Evaluation of Landfill Performance) |

HELP OVERVIEW |
|
The HELP model is a finite difference model used to evaluate the
hydrologic performance of landfills containing multiple layers and different
layer combinations. The model is used to predict the seasonal generation,
percolation and drainage of landfill leachate due to precipitation and
infiltration. The Visual HELP interface is only included as part of the WHI
UnSat Suite Plus, or as a stand-alone application.
Model
Details
|
- Multi-layer profile
- Heterogeneous soil properties
- Transient atmospheric boundary condition data
- International weather generator (3,000 weather stations globally)
- Includes a limited database of soil properties
Simulated Processes
|
- Transient groundwater flow through a one-dimensional soil column
Simulation
Results
|
|
The hydrological results generated by the HELP model include the
following time-series data:
|
- Precipitation, evapotranspiration and surface runoff
- Lateral drainage from selected model layers
- Percolation/Leakage through selected model layers
- Average head values for select model layers
