FEFLOW v.7.0 Released
FEFLOW 7.0 was oficially released. As you may conclude based on the version number, the current release is not a simple facelift, but a revolutionary new version.
Below you will find a brief summary of the new features and main improvements of the new version along with a link to download a pdf document with more details. A video is also accesible for your reference from the software's webpage.

Short description of new features and improvements:
- 3D unstructured meshes in FEFLOW: by giving you the ability to use layered, partially unstructured, or fully unstructured meshes in 3D, FEFLOW provides a new level of geometrical flexibility.
- Control-Volume Finite Elements (CVFE) method: as an alternative to the classic Galerkin method, FEFLOW now provides the option to use the Control-Volume Finite Element (CVFE) method for unsaturated or variably saturated flow.
- Anisotropic macro-dispersion: FEFLOW now provides an additional option to specify directional anisotropy (axis-parallel, layer-parallel, or user-defined) for the dispersivity
- Parameter statistics: in order to better analyse mesh quality, model input data and simulation results, FEFLOW now allows to calculate and graphically display descriptive statistics for most parameters.
- Mixed triangular and quad meshing: in addition to unstructured meshing in the third dimension, FEFLOW now handles mixed triangular/quad meshes.
- Auxiliary parameters: new auxiliary parameters allow to directly show fluid Density, the Condition Number (as a measure for mesh quality), the Elemental Volume and the Dihedral Angles of tetrahedral elements in unstructured meshes
- etc.
